Dominika's Story

After moving from Poland to the U.S. at age nine, I developed multiple health conditions, including psoriasis, IBS, and PCOS, that doctors couldn't effectively treat. When my daughter was born, she quickly developed colic. Since I was breastfeeding, I tried an elimination diet of just turkey, pears, and water - which surprisingly improved both her symptoms and many of my own health issues.

This discovery led me through various dietary experiments, ultimately finding significant relief through the Medical Medium's Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie, which completely healed my psoriasis. Now at 37, I work as a Postpartum Doula and Certified Remote Wellness Practitioner, though I emphasize that I'm not a medical doctor.

The lesson I learned: Many common products and foods in the U.S. may contain harmful ingredients that affect our health, even those marketed as "clean" or "safe." While I'm not 100% healthy, through my relentless pursuit of answers about my family's health conditions, I learned the importance of educating ourselves about what we consume and use on our bodies and how to remove that which doesn't belong.

Why She Took Her Power Back

She Took Her Power Back was born out of a deeply personal journey—one filled with struggles, resilience, and ultimately, empowerment. My mission is to share what I’ve learned with others who feel stuck in their own health struggles. I believe that knowledge is power and that everyone deserves to feel empowered to take control of their well-being. Whether you’re dealing with a chronic condition, frustrated with conventional treatments, or simply looking for a more holistic approach to health, I hope my stories inspire you to explore alternative paths. Healing is a journey, not a destination, but with patience and determination, it’s one that can lead to incredible transformation.

When I discovered the power of nature and the body’s incredible ability to heal itself when given the right tools. I learned to focus on nourishing my body with wholesome foods, managing stress through mindfulness and movement, and replacing harmful treatments with natural remedies. Slowly but surely, I began to see results—not just in my physical health, but in my mental and emotional well-being as well.

This journey taught me a profound lesson: reclaiming your health is about reclaiming your power. For so long, I felt powerless, stuck in a system that didn’t prioritize true healing. But when I took control of my health, I also took control of my life. This realization inspired me to create She Took Her Power Back as a space to share my story and connect with others on similar journeys.

While this blog is rooted in my personal experiences, it’s not just about me. She Took Her Power Back is for everyone—regardless of where you’re from, what you’re struggling with, or what healing looks like for you. My mission is to provide an inclusive space where people can find inspiration, resources, and encouragement to explore holistic approaches to health and wellness. Whether you’re dealing with chronic illness, looking for natural alternatives, or simply seeking a community that prioritizes empowerment and self-care, you’re welcome here. â€‹

Through this platform, I hope to show that healing is not one-size-fits-all and that everyone’s journey is unique. What matters most is taking that first step to reclaim your power, even if it feels small. Together, we can challenge the conventional systems that fail us, explore the wisdom of natural healing, and celebrate the victories—big and small—that come with taking back control of our health and lives.
